The 29th Annual Conference of the Robotics Society of Japan International Session
A lot of robotics research done today is happening on open-sourced robotics platforms where researchers can easily share components and ideas. The fact that platforms are open contributes to rapid standardization of technologies and allows users to easily compare different solutions. This session will overview some of the most popular open-sourced robotics tools available today. Each presentation will cover a tool’s architecture design, the technologies immediately available, the communities behind it, and its future direction.
Organizer: Rosen Diankov of University of Tokyo JSK Lab and OpenRAVE.
All presentations will be reocrded and uploaded to: rsj2011opensource YouTube Channel.
Open videos will give the presenters more exposure to their software and give users a chance to playback and see what open source robotics is all about.
Paper Submission Instructions. When submitting, please leave a note somewhere that the paper is intended for “Advances in Open-source Robotics Tools”.
deadline: July 22 (Fri), 2011 (firm)
